STOMP, for zkill, is providing a stream of kill mails. As they come in, they get flung out onto the stomp stream.
Pretty much like what happens with EMDR.
Not quite so good for filling in gaps, but handy for keeping up to date. Or if you want to see indicative data (such as: what modules are popular)
It's not just PHP. There are stomp clients in many languages. http://stomp.github.io/implementations.html Steve Ronuken for CSM 8 Handy tools and SDE conversions Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

I do not understand the point of that.
You can make a custom API which ONLY does killmails, so I don't know why people are still against submitting their API. Not only that, but I fear that with these external KM links, people will use those and delete their APIs. This may have the effect of eventually missing kills as they are no longer automatically pulled in but manually posted. Those who forget to submit their loss/kill mails may not make it into the killboard system.
Now with that said, I am very excited to see CREST finally being opened up. =D
It's really handy for events such as Ganked, and some of the FFAs. Easy to get links from people claiming kills. Steve Ronuken for CSM 9! http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

A little confused on what zKill can access without submitting an API key.
CREST has the option to allow people to access the XML api without having to go create an API key. It just shares the SSO auth. You have to approve the privileges though, like above.

One thing to clear on: It's personal kills only. Not corp, or other characters on the same account (I think)
